The Paddy Richter is modified from the Richter tuning by raising hole 3 by two semitones, which is very convenient, especially for playing Irish and Celtic music quickly (1st position: the 6th note of the major scale is playable without bending; 2nd position: the 2nd major scale is not available in the lower register without bending).
