Set of windsavers for diatonic models (full/half-valved)
Available directly from stock in approx. 1 working day
Self-assembly valves/windsavers - suitable for all models in the Blues series (10-hole models); 3 valves per length (30 pieces).
You will receive the original valves/windsavers that Seydel uses for half-valved or LOW harmonicas.
Windsavers minimize air loss when playing blow or draw tones. If both reeds of a corresponding pair of reeds are fitted with valves, the possibilities for bending notes are very limited. If a valve closes only the lower-pitched reed of the pair, bending notes remains possible (so-called half-valved).
With a harmonica with full valves, air loss is minimized, but the bending possibilities are very limited. This windsaver set is suitable for one instrument with full valves (+ set of spare valves) or three instruments with half valves.
On harmonicas with half valves, the valves (=windsavers) must be attached to the draw plate of 1-6 (the valve is then located on the inside of the hole) and to the blow plate of 7-10 (the valve is then located on the outside of the top plate). This ensures better airtightness of the instrument: bend tones remain playable, while overbending is no longer possible. (see second image)
