The Manji M-20W has the same powerful touch as the Manji M-20, but a softer tone thanks to its wooden bridge, which softens the high notes. Like the Manji M-20 and Manji Sky M-20S, the M-20W is tuned in a "compromise tuning" that emphasizes chord resonance. This is useful for playing blues and rock with a lot of improvisation.
The weight and hardness of the wooden top plates, along with the space created within the wood, give this instrument a soft tone with suppressed high frequencies. You'll experience its unique sound, especially when playing long notes. Over time, the color of the wooden top plates may change or become slightly glossier, giving the instrument a unique personality! Another appealing aspect of this model with wooden tops is that the sound changes over time—in other words, the instrument grows with you.
The M-20W shares the same bridge as the classic Manji M-20, made of resin mixed with tree-derived fibers, achieving both the tone of wood and the durability of plastic. The solid bridge, reinforced with wood fibers, produces a warm tone that's different from a standard plastic body with air channels.
