SEYDEL's Next-Generation Low-Harmonicas : featuring the lowest-sounding Blues harmonica in the world - with a new Baritone design and stainless steel reeds.

*All models have a delivery time of approximately 1-3 working days.

The popular 1847 CLASSIC is now also available in super low tones!
redesigned with a 20% thicker comb and raised cover plates.

Available tones range from LF# (low F-sharp) to LLE (double low E). This series expands Seydel's 1847 line of stainless steel reed harmonicas with the extreme bass range in a completely new design.

The Double Low (LL) models are tuned two octaves lower than standard, making SEYDEL's 1847 LLE the lowest-tuned diatonic harmonica in the world.

Compared to standard-tuned models, low-tuned harmonicas offer a very sonorous, slightly softer, and unobtrusive sound, making them an excellent choice for both accompaniment (chords or bass lines) and solos. The sound is similar to that of a tenor saxophone, trombone, or even tuba, especially when played amplified. This significantly expands their range of applications and opens up many new possibilities for harmonica players.

To achieve the desired sound from the low-tuned models, the reeds require more space. The resonance chamber, reinforced by the 20% thicker comb (sealed walnut) and the higher cover plates of the new 1847 Low models, helps produce a richer and louder sound. Special keys (windsavers) ensure excellent airtightness, even in the extremely low range.

This design change positively impacts the sonority and tonal control of the 1847 Low models. While the player is encouraged to open up their playing style slightly to enlarge the resonance chamber, design improvements like the thicker bridge help create the larger resonance chamber, resulting in a superior, low-end sound. The sound becomes fuller and more voluminous, and the instrument plays more responsively.

Thanks to the raised cover plates, rattling reed noises are a thing of the past with LOW harmonicas, and players get a greater sound projection to the audience through the wide-open back of the instrument.

This Low 1847 series is a great addition for harmonica players and requires some practice and familiarity, and the results will definitely be there!
