Delivery time 1-3 working days
The 1847 CLASSIC is now available in super low tunings ,
redesigned with a 20% thicker comb and raised cover plates. Available tones range from LF# (low F sharp) to LLE (double low E). This innovation extends our 1847 line of stainless steel reed harmonicas to include the extreme bass range.
The double-low models (LL) are tuned two octaves lower than the standard, making SEYDEL's 1847 LLE the lowest-pitched diatonic harmonica in the world.
Compared to the 'standard tuned' models, low-tuned harmonicas offer a very sonorous, slightly softer and unobtrusive sound, making them an excellent choice for both accompaniment (chords or basslines) and solos. Their sound is similar to that of a tenor saxophone, a trombone, or even a tuba, especially when played amplified. This significantly expands the field of application and opens up many new possibilities for harmonica players.
To get the desired sound from the low-tuned models, the notes need more space. The resonance chamber, enhanced by the 20% thicker comb (sealed walnut) and the higher cover plates of the new 1847 Low models, help to produce a thicker and louder sound. Special valves ensure very good airtightness even in the extremely low range.
This design change positively affects the sonority and tone control of the 1847 Low models. While the player is animated to open his or her vocal tract a little more to increase the resonance chamber, design improvements such as the thicker comb help create the larger resonance chamber, delivering superior low-end sound. The sound becomes fuller and more voluminous and the instrument can be played with better response.
Raised cover plates make rattling reed sounds a thing of the past and players get a greater sound projection to the audience through the wide-open back of the instrument.
