For years, chromatic harmonica players have complained about one thing in particular: sticky windsavers (notes that stick or popping sounds). Some harmonicas suffer more from this than others, and the player also plays a role. Some people simply play with more moisture in their mouths than others, but temperature fluctuations and wear and tear are also major factors.

Easttop designed this model for these reasons; the Forerunner and this is the improved version, the 2.0.
(more airtight, slider system has been improved, slide works quieter and smoother)

This is a chromatic harmonica without windsavers, but what are the advantages and disadvantages?

Advantages over a chromatic harmonica with windsavers:

  • Sticky windsavers are a thing of the past!
  • No popping notes
  • No loose windsavers
  • Less temperature sensitive
  • Suitable for players with a lot of moisture in the mouth
  • Ideally suited for players starting from a diatonic harmonica
  • Extremely suitable as a practice harmonica
  • It is possible to bend notes!
  • The price is more attractive

Disadvantages compared to a chromatic harmonica with windsavers:

  • The volume is lower
  • The harmonica has a slightly more bluesy sound like a diatonic harmonica

Which players is this model suitable for?

  • Players who are used to diatonic harmonicas.
  • Players who generally play a bit harder
  • Players who play with a lot of moisture in their mouth
  • Players looking for a chromatic harmonica as a practice instrument that is reliable in use.
  • Players who want a chromatic key system but want to retain the bluesy sound of a diatonic harmonica and continue to bend notes.

Which players is this model less suitable for?

  • Players looking for a harmonica that responds instantly to the smallest amounts of air
  • Players who mainly play classical music with crystal clear tones
  • Players who have no experience playing the harmonica.

This harmonica has proven to be a godsend for many players, and for its price, it's definitely worth a try. This is the next-generation model with a beautiful comb, solid construction, an airtight slider system, a well-functioning silent slider, a beautiful black finish, and a comfortable fit thanks to its moon-shaped mouthpiece.
